ORIGIN
Lincang is one of Yunnan’s most important tea-producing areas, located in the mountainous southwest of China near the border with Myanmar. Its landscape of deep valleys, mist-covered mountains, and ancient forests creates one of the most diverse tea ecosystems in the world. At altitudes between 1,200 and 2,500 meters, the region enjoys a subtropical highland climate with abundant rainfall, mild temperatures, and mineral-rich red soils - conditions that allow tea trees to grow slowly and develop complex, aromatic leaves. Recognized as one of the birthplaces of wild Camellia sinensis var. assamica, Lincang is home to some of the oldest tea trees on earth, many growing naturally within forest environments. Tea has been cultivated here for centuries, and the region played a key role along the ancient Tea Horse Road that connected Yunnan with Tibet and Southeast Asia. Today, it remains one of the core origins for high-quality Pu’Er, white, and red teas.
Teas from Lincang are admired for their clarity, freshness, and refined sweetness. The liquor is often bright and transparent, with floral high notes, light minerality, and a lingering aftertaste known as hui gan. Each subregion - such as Fengqing, Shuangjiang, Yongde, or Cangyuan - contributes its own nuance to the local tea character, ranging from elegant and aromatic to deep and powerful. Culturally, Lincang is home to several ethnic minorities, including Dai, Wa, Lahu, and Hani, who have preserved traditional methods of tea cultivation and processing. The coexistence of ancient forests and tea gardens gives Lincang teas a sense of purity and authenticity rarely found elsewhere.
ABOUT
Yue Guang Bai, also known as Moonlight White, is a distinctive white tea from Yunnan Province that captures the quiet elegance of the region’s ancient tea traditions. Made from large-leaf Camellia sinensis var. assamica trees, the leaves are gently withered under both sunlight and moonlight, a unique process that gives the tea its poetic name and soft contrast of dark and silver hues. This careful, natural drying method preserves the vitality of the leaf while enhancing its complexity. The result is a tea that unites the freshness of white tea with the depth of light fermentation, offering a smooth texture and a rich, layered aroma. In each cup, Yue Guang Bai reveals notes of honey, dried fruit, and gentle floral sweetness, balanced by a calm earthy undertone. Sourced from Yunnan’s high mountain gardens, this tea reflects the balance between nature and craftsmanship - tranquil, fragrant, and deeply comforting.
