A tea ceremony is an ancient tradition of mindful tea preparation, as well as a beautiful event rich in aesthetic beauty and profound philosophy. Since ancient times, the process of tea preparation has been given great importance and attention, imbuing it with sacred and spiritual meaning. A tea ceremony is a meditation where participants immerse themselves in the moment 'here and now', slowly enjoying the aroma and taste of a drink. Under the guidance of an experienced tea master, the tea ceremony takes on a therapeutic effect, relaxing and aligning participants with a common field of vibration. The tea ceremony invites you to immerse yourself in the world of fragrances and tastes of tea, harvested and made with love and dedication. Tea leaves from the same plant, processed with different techniques, offer a diverse range of characters and moods. The tea ceremony is the poetry of movements, a symphony of flavors, and the harmony of space created by its participants and tea.

Tea Ceremony is the most attractive and atmospheric event we have been holding for more than 8 years. You will have the opportunity to delve into the world of ancient traditions in the company of experienced tea masters, who will guide you through the history, philosophy, and production techniques of various types of teas. You will experience authentic and meditative sessions as well as learn a lot about the highest mastery of tea and high tea culture. You will also learn how to evaluate the quality of the tea, brew it, and drink it properly. Such meetings change people's perspectives on tea from a completely different angle.

A Journey Through Tea, Culture, and Consciousness

This is more than a tea tasting - it is a guided immersion into the heart of Chinese tea culture. Over the course of three hours, guests are invited to experience a traditional tea ceremony that honors the roots of tea philosophy — peace, awareness, and connection. We serve four distinct types of high-quality tea, each carefully selected to showcase the diversity of Chinese tea craftsmanship, from the subtle energy of fresh leaves to the complexity and depth of old ones. Every tea tells a story, and each cup is prepared with precision and presence. Throughout the ceremony, we explore: the history and evolution of tea in China, tea production methods and regional terroirs, brewing techniques to bring out the essence of each tea, and Ways of perceiving and absorbing life through the lens of Eastern culture. This ceremony is a living dialogue. We share our experience during tea expeditions to different tea production regions and how AN SHIM TEA continues the path of fundamental human values.

A Journey into Taste, Aesthetics, and Mindfulness

This experience offers more than just tasting - it is a guided exploration into the refined world of Japanese tea culture. Over three immersive hours, guests are invited to participate in a traditional tea session that reflects the essence of Japanese values: simplicity, harmony, and attentiveness. We present four carefully selected types of Japanese tea, representing different regions, styles, and processing methods, from delicate steamed greens to deep-roasted and fermented varieties. Each tea reveals a different facet of Japan’s tea mastery, inviting the guest to experience clarity, presence, and subtle beauty in each cup. Throughout the session, we explore the origins and cultural evolution of tea in Japan, the philosophy behind tea preparation and presentation, and the nuances of regional cultivation and craftsmanship. We also share insights from our journeys across Japan’s tea-producing regions, and how AN SHIM TEA continues to preserve and share these traditions with respect and care.

Special Note:
One of the five teas served during this experience is a Ceremonial Grade Matcha, prepared using a shortened version of the traditional Japanese method. This presentation is designed to respectfully introduce the essence and aesthetics of the Japanese tea ceremony, showcasing the refined tools, gestures, and spirit of hospitality that define the culture of Matcha. While it is not a formal chaji (the most complete expression of the Japanese Way of Tea (chadō or sadō)) as performed by licensed tea masters in Japan, it offers a meaningful glimpse into the beauty and mindfulness at the heart of the Japanese Way of Tea.
