HUA ZHU LIANG ZI ANCIENT TREES 2012

ORIGIN
Hua Zhu Liang Zi is situated in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is one of the highest-altitude tea-growing regions in Menghai, with elevations between 1700m and 2300m meters above sea level. The name "Hua Zhu Liang Zi" translates to "Slippery Bamboo Ridge," referring to the local bamboo forests. The high altitude and cooler climate contribute to slow leaf growth, leading to rich flavors and a strong cha qi. The tea trees in this area are often old and wild, producing high-quality Sheng Pu'Er. The tea is known for its strong but balanced taste, with a long, sweet aftertaste and a powerful, uplifting effect. Common tasting notes include floral, honey-like sweetness, forest aromas, and mineral undertones. Because of its remote location and limited production, Hua Zhu Liang Zi tea is relatively rare and expensive. It is highly valued by Pu'Er collectors due to its strong aging potential.

Authentic Sheng Pu'Er, made from the leaves of ancient trees. Traditionally processed and pressed for long-term storage. Harvested in 2012 and aged in a Natural Storage. The tea has a light degree of compression, making it easy to break into individual leaves, allowing for careful separation of the desired amount for brewing. A high content of young buds ensures a smooth taste and high quality. A wonderful collectible Sheng with great potential for further aging.

ORGANOLEPTICS
The dry tea leaves have a restrained, soft, and sweet aroma with notes of honey, wax, and pine. When warmed in a teapot, the fragrance develops with forest and woody notes and a hint of smokiness. After rinsing, the tea leaves reveal fresh, soft, sweet marine notes, reminiscent of seaweed on the shore. With subsequent infusions, the aroma plays with dried fruit, honey, and woody undertones.

The brewed tea has a light amber color, clear and transparent. It is light, refreshing, sweet, and full-bodied. The taste features notes of dried fruits, fresh nuts, and fresh wood. At present, it has an authentic, wild, and primal character, which is a good sign, guaranteeing the authenticity of the raw material. The tea provides warmth, focus, and energy. With further steepings, its flavor intensifies, unfolding into forest and natural notes. The energy of the wild forest, high mountains, and ancient trees creates an atmosphere of tranquility, peace, and a sense of "home." The tea has a very thick, soft, and rounded taste, without astringency or bitterness. The infusion is fragrant, with a long, sweet aftertaste featuring a eucalyptus note. This tea is quite unique, standing out for its restrained and calm character compared to more fragrant and bright Sheng Pu'Ers from Menghai.
