ABOUT
GREEN GARDENIA is our own creation, produced through the collaboration of two specialized tea producers in northern Vietnam. The base green tea is handcrafted at our factory in Hà Giàng from early spring leaves harvested from ancient Shan Tuyết tea trees. Once the tea is finished, it is transported to our partner's factory in Phú Thọ Province, where the traditional scenting process takes place. The result is a tea created by two producers, each contributing their own expertise to achieve a highest quality.

The production begins in Hà Giàng, where carefully selected tea leaves undergo the traditional green tea process. Shortly after harvesting, the leaves are pan-fired to stop oxidation, preserving their vibrant color, fresh aroma, and natural sweetness. They are then rolled and carefully dried to create a stable, expressive tea with excellent structure and aromatic potential - an ideal foundation for natural scenting.

The finished green tea is then sent to a tea factory in Phú Thọ that specializes in naturally scented and experimental teas. There, fresh organically grown gardenia flowers are layered alternately with the tea leaves in large batches. During this resting period, the tea slowly absorbs the delicate floral aroma released by the blossoms. Once the flowers have transferred their fragrance, they are carefully removed and replaced with fresh flowers. This process may be repeated several times until the desired aromatic balance is achieved, creating a tea whose floral character is naturally integrated rather than artificially added.

We also produce limited batches scented with other flowers, including jasmine, lotus, and chloranthus. While the base tea remains the same, each flower contributes its own distinctive aromatic profile, allowing us to explore different expressions of this traditional Vietnamese tea-making art.

TERROIR
Hà Giàng Province, located in the far north of Vietnam along the border with China, is one of the country's most important tea-producing regions and home to some of Southeast Asia's oldest tea trees. The region's high elevations, ranging from 1,000 to over 2,000 meters above sea level, combined with frequent mountain mists, abundant rainfall, rich soils, and significant day-to-night temperature fluctuations, create ideal conditions for producing teas of exceptional complexity, sweetness, minerality, and aging potential.

Hà Giàng is particularly famous for its Shan Tuyết tea trees, a unique Vietnamese tea variety often referred to as "Snow Mountain Tea." Many of these ancient trees grow naturally in remote mountain forests, where their deep root systems absorb nutrients and minerals from multiple geological layers. Harvested by local ethnic minority communities using traditional methods, Shan Tuyết teas are celebrated for their floral aromas, honey-like sweetness, rich texture, vibrant mountain character, and long-lasting aftertaste, making Hà Giàng one of the most respected tea terroirs in Vietnam.

One of the region's most renowned tea-sourcing villages is Xà Phìn, located at an altitude of approximately 1,300-1,600 meters above sea level. Surrounded by pristine forests and home to numerous ancient Shan Tuyết tea trees, the village has become known for preserving traditional tea cultivation passed down through generations. Teas from Xà Phìn are particularly valued for their refined floral aroma, pronounced sweetness, silky texture, vibrant minerality, and exceptional balance, making the village one of the finest expressions of Hà Giàng's remarkable tea heritage.

ORGANOLEPTICS
The dry leaf consists of slender, gently twisted green tea leaves with a fresh green to deep olive tone, lightly interspersed with traces of dried gardenia petals. The aroma of the dry leaf is clean and expressive, with a natural gardenia fragrance layered over fresh vegetal notes and a soft sweet nuance. In a preheated teapot, the leaves release an elegant aromatic profile from the first infusion, where the floral intensity of gardenia is balanced by fresh green tones and a subtle creamy softness. As the infusion develops, the aroma becomes more integrated, combining floral brightness with a calm, rounded depth.

The aroma of the liquor is refined and harmonious, with a clear gardenia presence supported by gentle vegetal and lightly sweet undertones. The taste is smooth and balanced, with a light to medium body and a clean, slightly silky texture. A natural sweetness forms the core of the profile, while fresh green notes provide structure and a mild, well-integrated astringency. The gardenia aroma remains elegant and not overpowering, enhancing the overall clarity of the tea. The aftertaste is clean and moderately long, with a returning floral sweetness and a soft, refreshing finish. In the empty cup after drinking, a delicate jasmine fragrance lingers, leaving a calm and refined final impression.

GASTRONOMY
GREEN GARDENIA is a versatile tea whose fresh vegetal character and elegant floral fragrance make it an excellent companion to both Asian and Western cuisine. Its natural sweetness and silky texture pair beautifully with light seafood, steamed fish, sushi, sashimi, fresh salads, young cheeses, and delicate vegetable dishes. It also complements dishes prepared with herbs, citrus, or mild spices, where the tea enhances rather than overpowers the flavors.

For desserts, GREEN GARDENIA pairs well with fresh fruits, citrus tarts, panna cotta, vanilla-based desserts, light sponge cakes, almond pastries, and traditional Asian sweets such as mochi or wagashi. Its refined gardenia aroma also makes it an excellent afternoon tea, enjoyed on its own as a refreshing and elegant beverage. Prepared using either Gongfu Cha or Western-style brewing, it offers a harmonious balance of freshness, sweetness, and floral elegance.
