Bing Dao is one of the most famous ancient tea tree areas, located in the very north of Mengku, Lincang, Yunnan. The history of this tea started at least 500 years ago when the Dai ethnic group started to cultivate tea on this land. Due to its high-quality, special character, and sweet taste, this tea was appreciated by the local aristocracy and was drunk during international events. All these aspects made tea from Bing Dao very famous. Nowadays, Bing Dao is one of the most expensive raw materials for sheng pu'er production.
I'm excited to present you these unique 200g cakes, which are made from the leaves of 200-300 years old tea trees. The dry tea leaves have honey, plum, and woody aroma. The very intense flavour links to the noble raw material used in this cake. A very sweet marmalade fragrance. The rinsed tea leaves smell even sweeter and more tender. Strong, yet gentle aroma with notes of honey, vanilla, and baked apple. The beautiful light amber colour of the infusion varies depending on infusion time and water temperature.
The taste is sweet with notes of dried fruits, baked sugar, and a little hint of wood. Very noble deep taste with a long-lasting aftertaste with an obvious menthol sensation in the mouth. This tea has the so-called "impact force", a specific sensation of the taste moving from the root of the tongue to its tip. The strength and power of Bing Dao tea are concentrated in the middle of the back surface of the tongue.
