ORIGIN
Miyazaki Sabou is an example of modern tea farming, where love for nature and a contemporary view of the future of the Japanese tea industry are harmoniously combined. This tea production is focused on producing a unique line of tea, very different from anything you can find in Japan. Many tea gardens are divided into different cultivars grown for certain types of tea on the production territory. They produce 'Kamairicha' green tea, unique oolongs, and red/black teas here. They have been cultivating tea for nearly a century, since 1930. Miyazaki Sabou has done organic farming since the 1980s, when it stopped using pesticides and chemical fertilizers. In 2001, it received JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard) certification; all its teas are considered 100% Organic.
Excellent climate, organic farming, volcanic soil, altitude, remoteness from large cities, and the love of the work of the team of tea masters create unique teas. A modern, innovative view of production technologies and the experience adopted from Chinese and Taiwanese colleagues make this tea perfect and worthy of standing in the same line with the genre's classics. Traveling around Japan, we were more than once convinced of this production's excellent reputation and glory. For many Japanese producers, Miyazaki Sabou is a role model and a benchmark for organic farming.
Saemidori ("Clean Green") was cultivated in 1969 and is a cross between the high-quality Asatsuyu cultivar and the frost-resistant Yabukita cultivar. This cultivar is known for its delicate balance between sweetness and bitterness, with the perfect amount of freshness. Its flavor is so well-rounded that it has become a favorite among Japanese tea lovers worldwide.
We are pleased to present you with Gaba Oolong, which is made traditionally in an oxygen-free environment and promotes the formation of *gamma-aminobutyric acid inside the tea leaf. For those familiar with this tea category, getting acquainted with this version of Gaba tea will be interesting, where a weak degree of fermentation leads to a unique taste and aroma.
*GABA TEA was invented in Japan by Dr. Tsushida and his colleagues from MAFF National Research Institute of Tea in 1987. GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is an organic compound, the most important inhibitory neurotransmitter of the human central nervous system. It takes part in neuron transmission and metabolic processes in the brain. A specific production method in an oxygen-free environment converts the glutamic acid inside the tea leaf into gamma-aminobutyric acid. Another very important amino acid you can find in this tea is called alanine. The primary function of alanine is to increase muscle performance.
Gaba tea, a rare gem in the world of teas, was initially developed for its health benefits. This tea profoundly influences the cardiovascular, nervous, and endocrine systems. Research has shown that Gaba teas possess anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. They are also known for their ability to lower and equalize blood pressure, relieve the symptoms of atherosclerosis and hypertonic disease, boost metabolic processes and growth hormone production, regulate blood sugar, enhance brain activity, strengthen the vestibular apparatus, provide stress relief, alleviate the symptoms of bipolar disorder and depression, improve memory and sleep, aid in weight loss, and increase stamina. Gaba tea is particularly beneficial for mental overload and aids recovery during and after a working day. It's an excellent choice for a relaxing evening and maintaining healthy blood pressure levels, ensuring you not only enjoy a delicious cup of tea but also take care of your health.
