MIYAZAKI ROASTED OOLONG

ORIGIN
Miyazaki Sabou is an example of modern tea farming, where love for nature and a contemporary view of the future of the Japanese tea industry are harmoniously combined. This tea production is focused on producing a unique line of tea, very different from anything you can find in Japan. Many tea gardens are divided into different cultivars grown for certain types of tea on the production territory. They produce 'Kamairicha' green tea, unique oolongs, and red/black teas here. They have been cultivating tea for nearly a century, since 1930. Miyazaki Sabou has done organic farming since the 1980s, when it stopped using pesticides and chemical fertilizers. In 2001, it received JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard) certification; all its teas are considered 100% Organic.
Excellent climate, organic farming, volcanic soil, altitude, remoteness from large cities, and the love of the work of the team of tea masters create unique teas. A modern, innovative view of production technologies and the experience adopted from Chinese and Taiwanese colleagues make this tea perfect and worthy of standing in the same line with the genre's classics. Traveling around Japan, we were more than once convinced of this production's excellent reputation and glory. For many Japanese producers, Miyazaki Sabou is a role model and a benchmark for organic farming.

We are pleased to present you with a very rare and even unique for Japan roasted oolong of medium fermentation. Inspired by the famous Chinese rock wulongs, tea masters from the Miyazaki Sabou, contrary to all local traditions, go to an unknown world for them and surprise with their first-class oolongs. Organic tea gardens, branded cultivators, and high craftsmanship make this tea a stunning example of modern Japanese tea.

The tea consists of a medium-sized whole leaf, harvested in early spring from a cultivator called ... and produced by locally adapted technology. Oolong tea is rare in Japan and is made differently by different producers. Many other cultivars are used to achieve different flavor profiles. Beautiful tea differs from Wulong tea, produced in China and Taiwan.

ORGANOLEPTIC
The dry tea leaf has a bright, heady aroma with roasted seeds, tobacco, and seaweed notes. The aroma clearly shows baked and mineral notes for which Chinese and Taiwanese oolongs are valued. After warming up, the aroma continues with sweet, marine motives. After rinsing, the aroma becomes floral, with bread and slightly cognac notes. With further infusions, the aroma pleases with its bakery and even perfume universe.

The taste of tea is soft and sweet, with a bright flavor and a long, refreshing aftertaste. Here are notes of fried seeds, sugar cane, woody, and cognac motives. A pleasant sweet aroma of flower honey and vanilla remains in an empty bowl. The tea resembles first-class traditional Chinese wulongs, while the local cultivar and the technology features add originality and authentic beauty to this tea. Then, it withstands a large number of infusions and also perfectly and deeply reveals itself with the traditional Western prolonged infusion. The tea leaves a deep aftertaste, immersing in a state of peace and tranquility.
