Feng Huang "Phoenix" got its name from the place where it comes from. This tea is an excellent example of a truly authentic red tea of the highest mastery, with an exceptional aroma and rich, multifaceted taste. Made from the leaves of the Shui Xian tea bush, and produced by a master with extensive experience in the production of Guangdong wulongs, this tea, in our opinion, is a masterpiece and deserves very special attention.
This particular tea is harvested from semi-wild 60+ years old tea bushes, grown on Wu Dong Mountain. The trees grow in a relatively wild environment, at a distance from each other, which guarantees soil rich in micro-elements, which is reflected in the high quality and beneficial properties. The Shui Xiang tea bush variety is one of the most popular in China for the production of high-quality Guangdong and Wuyishan wulongs. This tea was produced in a small family production by an 80-year-old master with extensive experience and has been impressing us with his first-class teas for many years.
The aroma of dry tea leaves is baked, with berry and fruity notes. Its bakery notes promise a wonderful tea experience. The warmed tea leaf continues with more baked, chocolate, and tobacco motifs. The rinsed tea leaf reveals berries, dried fruits, honey, and bakery notes. If you approach the process of brewing tea creatively and start brewing tea with less hot water, then you will find a unique tea experience, a symphony of aromas and tastes that change during the tea ceremony. With subsequent infusions, the water temperature can be raised to almost 100 °C and you can enjoy a deep, rich, multifaceted taste.
The taste is sweet, delicate, and rich with pleasant berry, woody, and honey notes. The sweetness, reminiscent of burnt sugar, leaves a long-lasting, sweet aftertaste! A very fragrant and mellow infusion, with each infusion it opens into a drink with a honey, silky texture. The tea gives a pure infusion of dark amber color with a red tone. Worthy of being appreciated in tea pairs, this tea leaves a sweet, sugary aroma in an empty aroma cup.
