ANHUA BRICK TEA 2017

ABOUT
Anhua is a county in Hunan province, China, renowned as one of the original birthplaces of dark tea. The history of Anhua tea dates back several centuries, with records indicating that tea cultivation in the region began during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). However, it was during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) that Anhua tea gained popularity, particularly in the imperial courts. Its unique production methods and quality quickly made it a sought-after commodity. Many ethnic minorities in northwestern China refer to it as "the drink of life." Today, the traditional processing methods for Anhua tea are recognized as part of the second state list of intangible cultural heritages.

ORIGIN
Anhua County is located in the western part of Hunan Province, characterized by its mountainous terrain and rich biodiversity. The region enjoys a subtropical climate, which is ideal for cultivating high-quality tea. The altitude of Anhua County, ranging from 200 to 1,200 meters (656 to 3,937 feet), contributes to the unique growing conditions that enhance the tea's flavor profile.
The tea plants thrive in fertile soils enriched with minerals, allowing them to absorb the essential nutrients needed for optimal growth. The region’s misty mountains and abundant rainfall create a humid environment, further promoting the growth of premium tea leaves. It is this unique combination of geography and climate that sets Anhua tea apart from other varieties.

The unique processing techniques used for this tea contribute significantly to its health advantages. Some of its many benefits include lowering blood pressure, lipids, and blood sugar levels, inhibiting cancer cell proliferation, and boosting immunity. It is also highly effective for weight management and fat metabolism. Theaflavins present in dark tea act as powerful antioxidants and free radical scavengers, helping to combat cancer and cellular mutations, as well as providing antibacterial and antiviral properties. Additionally, dark tea can improve and treat cerebrovascular diseases and diabetes. Furthermore, its mineral trace element content surpasses that of other tea varieties. Selenium, one such element, supports the production of proteins and antibodies, enhances disease resistance, and plays a role in combating coronary heart disease and inhibiting cancer cell development. Notably, it is low in theine (caffeine). During the processing and storage of this tea, a fungal culture known as "Jinhua" or "Golden Flowers" develops on the leaves. Scientifically termed *Eurotium Cristatum*, this probiotic microorganism offers health benefits, particularly by improving or restoring gut flora. The tea is crafted from a special cultivar called 'Yuntaishan Da Ye Zhong,' which is prized for producing the highest quality Anhua Hei Cha. This cultivar is abundant in polyphenols and amino acids, resulting in a product with a delicate aroma and a rich, sweet flavor. Thanks to the climate, soil quality, and the raw materials used, there is a wide variety of Anhua Hei Cha available on the market. This particular selection stands out as a true representation of authenticity, and I am excited to share this remarkable treasure with you.

ORGANOLEPTICS
The flavor of the tea is rich and sweet, featuring hints of wood, tobacco, and smoke. It has a delicate, oily texture. The aroma is reminiscent of aged tea, with an oak-like note. Anhua Hei Cha possesses a soft, comforting energy, and the infusion showcases a deep amber color.
