Our collection has been expanded with stunning innovative products from BRAZIL, created by experienced masters from Ilópolis, Brazil, by our very good friend and high-level tea expert - Juliana Montagner.

JULIANA MONTAGNER

Juliana Montagner is a director of Ximango and founder of the Mon Julli brand in southern Brazil. She was born in Ilópolis, the city that has the scientific name of the plant, Ilex Paraguariensis, precisely where her Italian great-grandfather began production in the late 1800s. Juliana developed the legacy she received, studying and deepening into Camellia Sinensis and the universe of tea, with the mission of bringing the benefits of mate to the world. Thus, was born Green and Black Mate, patented by Mon Julli and obtained by processing mate shoots following Chinese green and red tea processing technologies.

MATE / YERBA MATE

Mate, also known as Yerba mate, is a traditional South American caffeine-rich infused drink. Mate was first consumed by the indigenous Guaraní who live in a Paraguay area, southeastern Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay and is very popular nowadays for its beneficial properties.

Green Mate, an innovative product, produces by Mon Julli company, which combines mate shoots (leaves) with the typical processing of the best Asian (Orthodox) teas. A very rare and unique product rich in tonic-stimulating and antioxidant properties as well as tasty drink with unique aroma and taste.

ORGANOLEPTICS
Dry leaves have a sweet, herbal, fragrance with sea weed and baked notes. First smell of this tea brings associations of meadow grass and summer sun. Going deeply into the fragrance I feel green buckwheat and seeds. The taste is sweet and creamy, with herbal, woody, nutty notes. You can feel fire as a result of pan-frying as one of the orthodox methods in green tea production. There is a little bitterness in the aftertaste which brings even more associations with classical Chinese green tea. The infusion is clean with lightly green jade colour. A great product definitely could stand a competition with classic teas made from Camellia Sinensis.

WHITE CHAMPAGNE

ORGANOLEPTICS
Dry leaves have a clear dark chocolate fragrance. Amazing baked character transform into floral notes during first smell. After warming up tea leaves aroma develop into cacao, tobacco, rose and raspberry with spicy nuances. The taste is sweet and and deep with cacao, herbal, chocolate notes. This tea has a deep feel in the mouth with long-lasting aftertaste. A very interesting experimental product definitely worth to try and compare with classic Chinese red teas.
