ORIGIN
Liu An Hei Cha is one of the oldest varieties of Hei Cha (Dark/Fermented Tea), also being one of the most famous dark teas due to its unique taste. I have tried many different Liu An Hei Cha variations, but this one is incredibly unique. I have fallen in love with this tea from the very first cup and I am very excited to share this tea with you. This Liu An is made from high-quality raw tea leaf material. You can see how beautiful and homogeneous these little brown tea leaves are. Fresh and sweet aroma, with light woody notes.
ORGANOLEPTICS
I prefer to drink such exquisite tea Gong Fu style, enjoying how the aroma and taste change with every new infusion. After keeping the tea leaves in a hot teapot, they open up and surprise us with sweet, creamy, and even fruity notes. These types of notes are very unusual for this type of tea. After rinsing the leaves, this unique bouquet opens up into a symphony of fresh woody flavours. A few bakery notes, such as vanilla, dough, apple pie, and yoghurt, alongside some tropical fruits such as mango and banana. The colour of the infusion can vary from dark brown to nearly black, depending on the brewing time. Very clear and transparent ruby-tone infusion.
The taste is sweet, fresh, deep, and multifaceted with notes of wood, resin, and coniferous trees. This tea creates associations of nature, forest, a wooden house, a sauna, and a birch broom. Each infusion brings additional flavours and notes, which makes you travel in space and time. Perhaps my judgement of this tea is too emotional, but I truly believe that this Hei Cha is one of the best dark teas I've ever tried. Every time I drink it, I find it incredibly sweet and creamy. The texture of the infusion is very tender, and silky with a sweet long-lasting aftertaste.
